This year, too, we took part again in RoHOW (RoboCup Humanoid Open Workshop) in Hamburg. This workshop is about exchanging knowledge and experience between the participating RoboCup teams. And every team is encouraged to offer various talks and presentations.
RoHOW is organized by the HULKS, the SPL RoboCup team of TUHH, and is therefore primarily aimed at SPL teams. This always makes the workshop and the talks very interesting for us, though; it offers wonderful opportunities to look beyond the boundaries of our own league and to exchange ideas with the SPL teams.
Besides the excellent talks, socializing together is also a central aspect of the weekend. It allowed participants to get to know each other better, build networks and thereby promote exchange and collaboration. So there was extensive discussion of the differences and similarities between the two robot types, since, unlike us, the SPL teams all use the same robot model.
For us, the topics on game behavior, path planning and the use of Rust as a primary programming language were especially interesting. Overall, the WF Wolves’ visit to RoHOW 2024 was marked by intense conversations, a valuable exchange of know-how and a sense of togetherness.
We again thank the HULKS this year for organizing the event and hope to be part of it again next year.
