Market of Opportunities for the New First-Year Students
As in previous years, the new first-year students for the winter semester 2024/2025 were welcomed at Ostfalia today. The welcome was opened by a short speech from the university president, who prepared the students for the coming years at the university. After a short tour of the main campus, the students could find out about student working groups and initiatives of the university at the Market of Opportunities, including us.
This year we were on site with three robots. We placed Hans and Sara statically at our stand, while the robot Detlef walked independently through the Market of Opportunities. He was remote-controlled by David and Emil with a gamepad and maneuvered through the crowds of students, which turned out to be quite an eye-catcher for the new first-years.
The event turned out to be a complete success for us: we were able to bring our research closer to several interested people and possibly also win one or two new members for our team.
