German Open 2024 - Day 1
After a five-year break, it’s finally that time again: the RoboCup German Open is taking place – this time not in Magdeburg but in Kassel. And of course our RoboCup team is there too, to represent our university on site and to hold up the flag of the Humanoid League.
The past weeks were marked by intensive preparation: packing, extensive tests and last bug fixes were on the agenda to make sure we could set off on time today – albeit with a slight delay.
At 10 a.m. we then arrived at the exhibition halls in Kassel and immediately began the unpacking marathon and the setup on site. The facilities of the exhibition halls turned out to be excellent, and we had enough space to make ourselves a bit at home.
Michael had taken care of the catering, and the first tests soon started. It was also nice to see our friends from Hamburg again – a warm hello here to the Hamburg Bit-Bots.
We spent the day with various tests, some bug fixing and tuning our robots. Our newcomers from the winter semester 2023 and the summer semester 2024 in particular were able to learn a lot and develop further.
Tomorrow the first games finally begin, and we are full of anticipation and optimism for the coming days. It will certainly be an exciting time full of challenges and thrilling moments – we are ready to do our best and prove our skills!
